Urology Medical Assistant - Full Time, Day Shift

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time day-shift Medical Assistant for its urology practice. The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled specialist who assists the physician in all aspects of the practice under the physician's direct responsibility, handling both patient care and administrative procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Vital signs and patient preparation for examination
• Entering lab and imaging orders and collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Updating patient medical records and answering phones
• Scheduling appointments, removing sutures and dressings, and transmitting prescription refills
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, or three years of experience in a medical office if not a program graduate
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for healthcare providers
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Experience in medical assisting and knowledge of outpatient medicine, patient care, examinations, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, and common safety hazards
• Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs and carry up to 20 lbs, and work under pressure
