Urgent Care Technician (Float)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Technician who will float across its Urgent Care locations. The role covers patient care, specimen collection, phlebotomy, equipment operation and supporting front-desk staff, with flexibility to travel between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs and prepare patient medical records for providers
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and testing according to laboratory policy and procedures
• Run surveillance exams such as hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKG, breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening
• Maintain chain of custody for forensic collections and ensure accurate documentation
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter data and monitor workflows
• Answer phones and faxes, discharge patients and maintain a clean environment
• Cross-train to support front desk staff and register patients using multiple systems
• Follow quality control expectations for POCT tests and comply with hospital and urgent care standards

Required profile

• Paramedic or EMT required; Florida licensure in the respective modality
• High school graduate or equivalent; two years of college preferred
• Experience as a paramedic, EMT or equivalent in a healthcare setting
• AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull/push up to 40 lbs; work in a stressful environment
• Willingness to travel among all Urgent Care locations
