Upper or Middle School French Teacher

About the role

Princeton Day School is seeking an experienced full‑time French teacher for upper or middle school beginning in the 2026‑27 academic year. The successful candidate will guide students from introductory to advanced levels, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural appreciation.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four sections of French (3‑4 preparations) covering a full range of proficiency levels.
• Serve as an advisor for a group of 6‑10 students, providing mentorship and support.
• Participate in extracurricular activities such as clubs or coaching, including occasional weekend or evening events.
• Assess student progress, deliver clear oral and written feedback, and communicate with families as needed.
• Collaborate on curriculum development, alignment, and departmental meetings.
• Create a student‑centered learning environment that addresses social and emotional needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in French language, literature, history, or culture (required); advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience at middle or upper school levels.
• Demonstrated ability to teach from introductory through advanced courses.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required skills
