Unit Secretary / CNA - Orthopedics (Full Time, Days)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a Unit Secretary / Certified Nursing Assistant for its Orthopedics unit. The role is full time, day shift, and the person works under the direction of the Registered Nurse as part of the nursing team, contributing to patient comfort and well-being.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specifically assigned patient care tasks.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering patient call lights and phones, and entering physician orders into the computer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant licensure in the state of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• Unit Secretary experience required.
• Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs; the job can be physically demanding with long periods of standing, sitting and walking.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert and self-motivated.

Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program participation, and maintenance of required professional licenses and certifications.
