Ultrasonographer – Per Diem

About the role

The Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and invasive procedures according to physician specifications and established protocols. This position offers variable shifts, call rotations, and the opportunity to work within a nationally recognized health system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all diagnostic ultrasound procedures using appropriate patient protocols, positioning, technique selection, equipment, and supplies.
• Review and confirm provider orders, provide technical support, and consult with the radiologist.
• Produce high‑quality images, document scans, and communicate findings to the radiologist.
• Maintain equipment operation, report malfunctions, and ensure cleanliness of the work area.
• Assist in training new employees and participate in department and hospital meetings.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved CAHEA diagnostic medical sonography program and in good standing with ARDMS.
• At least 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience, including abdominal, GYN, and peripheral vascular Doppler.
• Ability to work independently, maintain professional relationships, and handle confidential patient information ethically.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb and stand or walk for long periods.
