TYS Coordinator

About the role

The TYS Coordinator provides day‑to‑day leadership and operational support for the Terp Young Scholars program within Extended Studies at the University of Maryland. The role ensures a smooth, safe experience for participants and families from recruitment through program completion.

Key responsibilities

• Review applications, onboard participants, and maintain timely communications with families.
• Implement program events, supervise staff and student workers, and coordinate cross‑campus activities.
• Manage financial administration, program assessment, and ensure participant safety.
• Be available for the full duration of Summer Session I and II.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience in education or academic affairs (two years preferred).
• Ability to interpret policies, multitask, and provide excellent customer service to a diverse community.
• Successful completion of criminal background and CPS screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience using Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (TerpEngage) for data management.
