About the role

The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions leads recruitment, admission, and enrollment for all undergraduate students at the University of Maryland and its Shady Grove campus. This senior leader shapes strategic planning, market exploration, and scholarship award processes while ensuring compliance with diversity and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct strategic planning for prospective student engagement, including market research and partnership development.
• Oversee merit scholarship review and award processes totaling over $25 million annually.
• Manage admission and enrollment outcomes for first‑year programs, honors colleges, and limited‑enrollment initiatives.
• Lead implementation and customization of Slate CRM and Workday Student ERP to improve recruitment efficiency.
• Supervise a team of professional and support staff and serve as liaison to university leadership and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 12 years of experience in higher education, admissions, or academic affairs.
• Minimum 6 years of experience supervising professional staff.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret policies, regulations, and laws related to admissions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Slate CRM customization and utilization.
• Knowledge of Workday Student ERP implementation and integration.
