Tutoring Services Coordinator

About the role

The Tutoring Services Coordinator supports the academic progress of Texas A&M University‑San Antonio students by overseeing the campus Tutoring Center. Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Academic Learning Center, this role ensures high‑quality tutoring and supplemental instruction services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate academic tutoring and supplemental instruction for diverse student groups.
• Recruit, screen, and hire student and professional tutors in specific subject areas.
• Supervise daily operations of the Tutoring Center, including staff evaluation and activity monitoring.
• Create and maintain tracking systems for tutoring and supplemental instruction sessions.
• Organize logistics for tutoring, supplemental instruction, and on‑campus programming.
• Provide regular data and status reports to the Assistant Director.
• Develop internal controls to protect student confidentiality and ensure accurate program reporting.
• Assist with training for tutors and supplemental instruction leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• At least one year of experience in tutoring, academic support, or program administration.
• Preferred: two years of related experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing applications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications.
• Experience using database applications.
• Familiarity with appointment scheduling systems.
