Traveling Superintendent – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead a 16‑week interior fit‑out project in Mandeville, LA, and subsequent commercial construction projects across the Southeast. This field‑based leadership position requires a hands‑on, safety‑focused professional who can manage subcontractors, maintain schedules, and deliver high‑quality results while living away from home during the work week.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all on‑site operations for commercial construction projects, beginning with a 16‑week interior fit‑out.
• Coordinate daily field activities, subcontractor performance, and schedule adherence.
• Enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and contract specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and quality control reviews.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Identify and resolve field issues to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Travel to project locations throughout the Southeast as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of traveling superintendent experience in commercial construction.
• Strong background in interior fit‑outs, tenant improvements, or ground‑up commercial projects.
• Proven ability to manage projects while traveling and living out of hotels or Airbnbs.
• Deep knowledge of construction methods, building codes, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
• OSHA 30 certification (preferred) and other relevant safety certifications.
• Willingness to travel Monday–Friday throughout the Southeast.
