Trauma Surgical Technician – Weekend Days – No Call – Jefferson Highway

About the role

This position ensures the availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures, scrubs and assists in surgeries, and supports the RN with assigned duties. It is a weekend day shift with no on‑call requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Organize activities and supplies based on the surgery schedule and daily departmental needs.
• Competently scrub for surgical procedures and assist with endoscopy cases.
• Perform direct patient care duties under the supervision of the staff nurse.
• Communicate patient care information to patients, families, and co‑workers.
• Adapt to rapid changes in patient census, acuity, and resource availability.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military program (online programs not accepted) OR 5 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

• Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and related instruments.
• Basic analytical skills and proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for presenting information professionally.
