Transportation Technician

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Transportation Tech. The role supports the health care team in moving patients safely and compassionately between departments and services, acting as a patient advocate and working with all departments to ensure timely patient movement across the hospital system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist staff in transporting patients to and from medical departments and service lines in a safe and compassionate manner.
• Help maintain and adjust schedules to meet the needs of the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for healthcare providers.
• Ability to solve problems, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push or pull up to 40 lbs; the job involves long periods of standing, walking and stooping, and frequent assistance with lifting patients and heavy equipment.

Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program participation, and maintenance of required professional licenses or certifications are also required.
