About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Transportation Supervisor to lead and coordinate delivery operations at its distribution center. The role covers direct supervision of delivery drivers, route management, DOT and hazardous material compliance, and fleet maintenance.

Key responsibilities

Lead, direct and train the delivery driver team.
Ensure compliance with all safety, hazmat and DOT requirements.
Manage routes so that deliveries run as cost efficiently as possible.
Oversee routine vehicle inspections and keep proper records.
Coach and develop delivery drivers, including accompanying them on routes for evaluation.
Ensure work follows company policies and procedures.

Required profile

Typically a bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related discipline.
Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field; an advanced degree may offset less experience.
May require certification.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and make repetitive movements.
Typically involves overnight travel of less than 10% of the time.
