Transportation Project Inquiries Coordinator (Technical Manager V)

About the role

The State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, is hiring a Transportation Project Inquiries Coordinator (Technical Manager V) in Schaumburg, Illinois. Reporting to the Engineer of Program Development, the position is the district's primary coordinator for executive, legislative, municipal and public transportation-related inquiries about highway construction projects, transportation programs and district operations. It also manages the district's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The position is full time, salaried, unionized (Protech Teamsters), with an anticipated starting salary of $6,519 per month and a range of $6,519-$10,831 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate responses to requests from municipalities, legislators, the Office of the Secretary of Transportation and other governmental entities about highway construction projects, transportation programs and district operations.
• Manage, track and coordinate all district FOIA requests with the department FOIA Officer in the Office of Chief Counsel to ensure compliance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act and statutory deadlines.
• Provide technical coordination, communication support and liaison services between district bureaus, executive management and external stakeholders.

Required profile
