Transportation Associate

About the role

Amazon is looking for motivated Transportation Associates to support its yard operations. You will move trailers, coordinate yard traffic, and ensure timely arrivals and departures while maintaining a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform trailer moves and yard audits in the trailer yard.
• Check‑in trailers, manage traffic flow, and communicate with internal operations and external carriers.
• Complete driver training programs such as Hostler and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) school.
• Operate various vehicle types, including hostlers and day cabs, on non‑public roads.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues, and follow DOT regulations.
• Track working hours, breaks, and adhere to safety policies and traffic laws.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and compliance with company and DOT rules.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL if not already held.
• Flexibility to support peer training and work at nearby sites as needed.

Required skills

• Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) operation.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance reporting.
• Use of yard equipment such as pallet jacks.
