Transmission Line Engineer – Design Overhead & Underground Lines

About the role

TechServ is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design high‑voltage overhead and underground transmission lines using proprietary CAD tools. The role involves translating client requirements into cost‑effective, regulatory‑compliant designs while supporting project documentation and cost estimating.

Key responsibilities

• Create cost‑effective designs for high‑voltage transmission lines ranging from 69 kV to 765 kV.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and deliverables in response to client requests.
• Identify scope of work, analyze line clearances, and incorporate as‑built changes.
• Maintain professional communication with peers, supervisors, clients, and vendors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or a related STEM field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in the utilities sector.
• 5+ years of experience with PLS‑CADD or similar CAD programs.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• FE or EIT certification strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States.
