Transfer Center Nursing Supervisor

About the role

AdventHealth La Grange is hiring a full-time day-shift Transfer Center Nursing Supervisor. The role runs 6:45am to 7:15pm, every third weekend and rotating holidays, and coordinates ambulance transfers between hospitals and other facilities and post-acute care providers. The pay range is $40.85-$75.98.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong customer relationships with physicians, nurses, vendors and fellow employees by telephone and in person
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of participating medical services and follow applicable regulations
• Coordinate ambulance transfers from hospitals to other facilities and post-acute care providers
• Answer calls in a customer-centric way using service profiles and healthcare information
• Consult on-call physicians on patient care issues and advise when appropriate
• Collaborate with facilities to manage external patient movements and facilitate internal transfers, keeping the attending physician, accepting facility and referring facility informed
• Document and track all hospital transfers and transports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required); Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of nursing experience (required)
• Registered Nurse license (required)
• 2+ years in an Emergency Department, ICU or house supervisor role preferred
