Training and Education Specialist IV – Learning Innovation Team

About the role

Join the Division of Social Services as a Training & Education Specialist IV on the Learning Innovation Team. You will design, deliver, and evaluate learning programs that support public assistance initiatives across Delaware. The role involves collaborating with internal staff, external partners, and community stakeholders while traveling throughout New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of training formats, including instructor‑led classroom sessions, on‑the‑job coaching, virtual workshops, and group activities.
• Organize and prepare all necessary materials and equipment such as handouts, manuals, laptops, audiovisual tools, and specialized assistive technology.
• Research, select, and recommend evidence‑based delivery methods, learning materials, and technologies that enhance participant engagement.
• Coach employees and provide constructive feedback to improve performance and knowledge retention.
• Collect, analyze, and report training data through surveys and assessments to measure effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
• Travel to multiple sites across the state to ensure consistent training support and alignment with agency objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience determining eligibility for public assistance, healthcare, social service, or related benefit programs.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple training projects, and travel throughout Delaware as needed.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based instructional practices and adult learning principles.
