Traffic Control Officer – Night Shift

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus seeks a Night Shift Traffic Control Officer to keep roads and parking areas clear, ensuring safe and efficient movement for patients, visitors, staff, and emergency responders.

Key responsibilities

• Direct traffic at crosswalks, city streets, and special events to prevent congestion.
• Assist police officers with traffic control in parking garages and surface lots.
• Patrol parking areas on foot or in a vehicle, issuing warnings or citations per clinic and municipal guidelines.
• Use a radio to report status, request information, and receive instructions from supervisors.
• Enforce the smoke‑free policy throughout clinic property.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability for clinic‑owned vehicles.
• Ability to stand outdoors for up to 8 hours and drive continuously for 60 minutes.
• Physical capability to assist police with emergencies and subdue suspects if needed.

Required skills

• Completion of all traffic control training required by Cleveland Clinic and local municipalities.
• Radio communication proficiency.
• Knowledge of parking citation procedures.
