Fire Alarm Technician I

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus facilities team to ensure a safe environment by inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire and life safety systems. This full‑time position works day shifts (6:30 am‑3:00 pm) and supports the hospital’s commitment to world‑class patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, and commissioning of fire and life safety (FLS) systems to ensure compliance with hospital policies and local, state, and federal codes.
• Utilize electrical and electronic testing devices to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems and associated peripheral devices.
• Document inspections and work performed in accordance with departmental policies, warranty, and vendor requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• State of Ohio certifications for Fire Alarm Detection, Automatic Sprinkler/Standpipe, and Fire Pumps (or attainable within 2 years).
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Four years of experience with electronics and fire alarm systems, including at least two years in an institutional setting.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm hardware and software.
