Fire and Life Safety Inspector Tester

About the role

The Fire and Life Safety Inspector Tester works under the Facilities Manager to inspect, test, and commission fire and life safety systems at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The role ensures compliance with all relevant codes and protects patients, visitors, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, and commissioning of fire and life safety (FLS) systems.
• Document inspections and maintain records according to departmental policies and vendor requirements.
• Use electrical and electronic testing devices to verify fire alarm system operation, including peripheral devices.
• Perform corrective maintenance as directed and follow standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on mechanical experience or work with fire & life safety systems.
• State of Ohio certification for Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems (or attainable within 2 years).
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
