Traffic Control Associate – Westminster

About the role

The Traffic Control Associate helps manage traffic around active work zones for road construction and utility crews in Westminster, ensuring safety for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, workers and themselves.

Key responsibilities

• Use traffic signals, paddles and hand signals to safely coordinate traffic flow according to plans and customer requests.
• Assist with set‑up, maintenance and tear‑down of work zones, including placement of cones, barricades and signs.
• Communicate with customers, the public and team members via radios or hand signals.
• Drive company trucks and keep equipment organized and in working order.

Required profile

• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in high‑volume, noisy environments with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand/walk for long periods and perform repetitive motions.

Required skills

• ATSSA Flagging certification (or willingness to obtain in‑house).
• Experience driving medium‑duty vehicles and towing trailers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Caltrans MUTCD and ability to read traffic control plans (preferred).
