Test Lab Engineer

About the role

As a Test Lab Engineer at 3M, you will collaborate with global teams to develop, improve, and validate robust test methods while supporting equipment management and future capability expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Test Lab Supervisor and engineering staff to understand testing requirements and ensure successful execution.
• Develop, improve, maintain, and validate repeatable test methods, including control charts and measurement uncertainty.
• Support test equipment maintenance, calibration, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Lead improvement projects and new method development to expand test capabilities and accreditation scope.
• Document standard work, test methods, safety standards, and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least one year of experience with test method development or instrumentation in a private, public, government, or military setting.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
