About the role
The University of Miami College of Engineering seeks an open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty member to advance research and teaching in space science and engineering. The appointment will be in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, supporting the college’s strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace and space engineering.
- Establish a robust, externally funded research program in areas such as aerodynamics, propulsion, and satellite technologies.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives like the Miami Engineering Autonomous Mobility Initiative (MEAMI).
- Provide service to the department, college, and broader university community.
Required profile
- Earned Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential to build a strong, sustainable research agenda.
- Ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and academic excellence.
