Temporary Teacher Assistant – Gross Anatomy Lab

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a temporary Teacher Assistant to support Gross Anatomy courses for Doctor of Physical Therapy students. The role involves assisting in laboratory dissection sessions, grading, and providing supplemental instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instructors in preparing and setting up laboratory equipment for dissection labs.
• Guide and supervise students during hands‑on anatomy dissections, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Provide grading support, develop rubrics, and give quantitative and qualitative feedback on student work.
• Enter data, perform basic statistical analysis of assessment results, and maintain accurate records.
• Offer one‑on‑one or small‑group review sessions and help students with special learning needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in an educational or laboratory setting.
• Successful completion of Gross Anatomy I and II courses.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
