About the role
The Evidence for Justice Lab at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy is seeking a temporary Qualitative Research Associate. The role supports interdisciplinary research on the use of empirical evidence in criminal justice and public safety, with a focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to conduct qualitative research measuring the impact of public‑safety programs.
- Collect, manage, and analyze qualitative data across multiple research projects.
- Draft research protocols, prepare data‑analysis presentations, and develop reports, visualizations, and other publications for diverse audiences.
- Assist with programming and strategic outreach initiatives as needed.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in public policy, sociology, criminology, political science, or a related social‑science field preferred; bachelor’s degree with significant research experience also considered.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to qualitative research projects, including data collection and analysis.
- Ability to work closely with faculty directors, lab managers, fellows, and other research assistants.
