About the role
The University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences seeks a temporary part‑time Props Technician to support theatrical productions in Coral Gables, FL. The role involves creating, maintaining, and managing costumes, accessories, and props to bring productions to life.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate purchasing of materials and supplies.
- Repair, alter, clean, and safeguard costumes and accessories.
- Maintain inventories of costume shop stock and supplies.
- Read scripts to determine prop and costume needs and research ideas.
- Construct lighter, cost‑effective analogues of heavier items.
- Set up backstage props, perform scene changes, and operate special effects.
Required profile
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Learning agility to adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
