Graphic Designer for University Marketing and Communications

About the role

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of University Marketing and Communications is seeking a creative and detail‑oriented Graphic Designer. The role involves developing visual communications for print and digital platforms that support marketing, promotional, and branding initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and produce design assets from concept through final production for print, web, and social media.
• Collaborate with colleagues, vendors, photographers, and other creative professionals on projects and occasional photo/video shoots.
• Prepare production‑ready files and manage relationships with printers, sign companies, and promotional vendors.
• Maintain consistency with established brand guidelines and accessibility standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• At least one year of professional graphic design experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and effective communication skills.
• Professional portfolio demonstrating relevant design work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience creating materials for both print and digital platforms.
• Ability to produce production‑ready files for print and digital distribution.
