Temporary HR Generalist – Corporate & Retail (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary HR Generalist to support both corporate and retail employee populations for a luxury fashion house. The role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule (three days onsite, two days remote) for an estimated six‑month assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment for retail store positions across the United States and Canada.
• Partner with store leadership on hiring needs, staffing initiatives, and seasonal hiring.
• Assist with recruitment activities related to new store openings.
• Work closely with store managers on employee‑relations and performance‑management matters.
• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including collection of new‑hire paperwork and I‑9 documentation.
• Maintain HR templates, trackers, and administrative documents in Excel.
• Provide day‑to‑day HR operational support for both retail and corporate staff.
• Serve as a primary HR contact for store leadership across multiple locations.

Required profile

• Prior experience as an HR Generalist supporting both retail and corporate populations.
• Retail HR experience is mandatory.
• Experience in luxury or contemporary fashion environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, and performance‑management activities.
• Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information with attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
