Managing Consultant – Senior Recruitment Lead

About the role

Oliver James is seeking a Managing Consultant to lead and grow its permanent recruitment desk in the US market. You will mentor junior recruiters, develop new client relationships, and drive revenue through strategic head‑hunting across senior and board‑level positions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of junior recruiters while maintaining key client relationships.
• Build and manage a permanent recruitment desk from the ground up.
• Source, assess, and place candidates from junior to board level.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets and KPI metrics.
• Organise networking events, client presentations and market‑mapping activities.
• Negotiate commercial terms with multinational organisations.
• Cross‑sell additional disciplines and services to existing clients.

Required profile

• Strong management experience, preferably within permanent recruitment.
• Extensive knowledge of the recruitment market and ability to service senior‑level talent.
• Proven track record of meeting revenue and activity targets.
• Excellent networking and relationship‑building skills.
