About the role
The Telemetry Monitor Technician provides continuous observation and interpretation of patient ECG patterns within a hospital setting. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the technician ensures timely documentation and communication of any rhythm changes.
Key responsibilities
- Continuously monitor ECG signals on an oscilloscope during assigned shifts.
- Interpret rhythm patterns and identify abnormalities.
- Document pertinent information on rhythm strips accurately.
- Notify medical or nursing staff promptly of any significant changes.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and orientation training.
- Be available for overtime or call‑back as required.
Required profile
- Proficiency in oral and written communication and basic mathematics.
- Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and equipment acquired through orientation and on‑the‑job training.
- Ability to work in a safety‑sensitive environment with exposure to biological hazards, fumes, odors, and occasional cooler temperatures.
- Capability to perform close‑eye work, hear normal and soft tones, sit for extended periods, reach frequently, and lift up to 20 lb.
