Technical Writer (Remote Opportunity)

About the role

VetsEZ is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Data Migration & Syndication effort for the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office. This fully remote position requires residence in the continental United States.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and coordinate highly complex IT documentation, including manuals, reports, specifications, and presentations.
• Develop and distribute communications about SDLC releases, process and policy changes, and other core functions.
• Research technical concepts, conduct interviews with technical staff, and create new documentation such as policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Review draft documents, provide feedback, and participate in documentation reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, computer science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of technical writing experience with the ability to interface with technical staff and end‑users.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a government clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of SDLC phases, change management, and documentation best practices.
• Experience with data migration and data syndication processes, preferably within the VA or other federal agencies.
