Technical Program Manager - Battery Recycling

About the role

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) develops and commercializes sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for electric vehicles, grid storage and consumer electronics. As Technical Program Manager on the Battery Recycling Team, you will lead and own all technical projects, from laboratory concept through construction and commissioning at commercial scale, reporting to the Project Management Office.

Key responsibilities

• Scope, resource manage, plan technically and oversee budgets, driving projects from concept to completion
• Translate stakeholder requirements into project scope with clear implementation plans and obligations
• Drive projects through validation, design, procurement, installation and commissioning of manufacturing facilities
• Lead cross-functional reviews (R&D, manufacturing, production, construction, procurement, EHS) and take the lead on status reviews, funding requests and studies
• Own resourcing, scheduling, success criteria, budgets and reporting tools, and propose new projects
• Influence teams without direct authority and support engineering design, construction management and procurement when needed

Required profile

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience and evidence of extraordinary ability
• 2-5 years of experience in early development, pilot testing, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of chemical refining and/or recycling systems
• Prior experience with chemical processes such as organics treatment, leaching, filtration, evaporation, extraction, dosing and refining
• Demonstrated ability to influence internal teams and external integrators on projects valued $1-5MM+
• Flourishes under pressure and in ambiguous environments; prior experience on government grants is a plus
