RC Driller - Mineral Exploration, Nevada

About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting an experienced RC Driller for its client's operations team in Nevada, supporting high-quality mineral exploration projects. The Driller operates and maintains Reverse Circulation (RC) rigs to recover samples for resource definition, with a focus on safety, productivity and client outcomes. The role suits someone experienced in U.S. mineral exploration campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Operate RC drilling rigs for mineral exploration, advancing holes typically 4-8 inches in diameter across different rock formations
• Ensure consistent sample recovery, handle splitters and maintain sample integrity for geological analysis
• Carry out operational plans in coordination with project geologists and engineers
• Maintain safety, productivity and environmental best practices on site, and report anomalies or equipment issues promptly
• Perform daily equipment inspections and safety rounds
• Carry out preventive maintenance such as greasing, fluid changes and minor repairs
• Install and manage cyclone splitters or sample collection systems
• Communicate with the crew about sample recovery, hole depth and equipment status

Required profile

• Drilling certification or equivalent trade qualification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in drilling, with significant RC drilling exposure in mineral exploration
• Knowledge of typical mining exploration targets (gold, lithium, copper, etc.)
• Ability to work outdoors in remote locations, often for extended periods
• Safety-conscious, with a proven record of compliance with mining and environmental standards

Required skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Preferred: experience with dual-tube RC systems and wireline-assisted recovery
• Preferred: familiarity with U.S. mineral exploration regulatory requirements and MSHA safety standards
• Preferred: knowledge of Nevada geology
