Underground Maintenance Mechanic (Mining / Epiroc / CAT)

About the role

A recruiter is partnering with a mining client to hire a skilled Mobile Maintenance Mechanic for underground mining equipment. The role keeps mobile equipment reliable and efficient through inspections, maintenance and repairs, with a schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off, so working only two weeks a month.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, lubricate, diagnose, maintain and repair all underground mining machinery
• Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out repairs to prevent equipment failures
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to extend equipment life
• Carry out systematic checks, lubrication and part replacements as needed
• Keep detailed records of maintenance, inspections and repairs
• Operate machinery such as overhead cranes, forklifts and boom trucks
• Work independently while maintaining high safety standards

Required profile

• Over 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong mechanical skills and efficient problem solving
• Ability to work independently with a focus on safety

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems of heavy machinery
• Reading equipment manuals, schematics and technical drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP is preferred
