Technical Consultant – Process Quality Products

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to join our Process Quality team at Applied Materials. In this role you will lead presales technical engagements, showcase AI‑enabled process quality solutions and drive customer adoption of Fault Detection, Run‑to‑Run and Statistical Process Control offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with sales to understand customer needs, conduct requirements analysis and design tailored process quality solutions.
• Lead product demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept activities for FD, R2R, SPC and AI‑enabled applications, customizing demos to highlight unique value.
• Provide technical consultation and training on product features, integration and AI/ML capabilities, and create ROI narratives.
• Gather feedback from customers and presales teams to influence product enhancements and act as the voice of the customer.
• Maintain up‑to‑date presales collateral, demo assets and documentation throughout the sales cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in a semiconductor fab or high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in technical presales, solutions engineering or consulting, including building collateral and delivering demos.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to interact with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Fault Detection (FD) methodology.
• Run‑to‑Run (R2R) control.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Machine Learning/AI concepts applied to process quality (anomaly detection, virtual metrology).
• Data‑analysis tools such as Python, SQL, JMP or Minitab.
