Teaching Associate – French Language (Full‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Department of French at the University of Bristol is seeking a Teaching Associate to deliver French language instruction across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This full‑time, fixed‑term appointment runs from June 2026 to April 2027 and supports the department while the current post‑holder is on secondment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess French language courses for single‑honours, joint‑honours and university‑wide language programmes.
• Contribute to the development of modern teaching materials and innovative pedagogical approaches.
• Provide administrative support for language‑related activities, including the Year Abroad programme.
• Collaborate with the Modern Languages team to share best practice and enhance overall teaching quality.

Required profile

• Fluent or near‑fluent proficiency in French and English.
• Relevant first degree and a postgraduate qualification in language teaching.
• Demonstrated experience teaching languages in UK higher education.
• Ideally a Fellow of AdvanceHE.
