About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to deliver academic, social, and developmental instruction to students. The role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify students' educational needs and develop individualized educational plans.
• Create and deliver lesson plans across one or more subjects.
• Observe and evaluate student abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Teach and mentor students in class, small groups, or one‑on‑one settings.
• Communicate student progress with families, counselors, administrators, and fellow teachers.
• Prepare students for standardized tests and address specific learning challenges.
• Document educational plans, goals, and progress as required by state and facility regulations.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment, enforce rules, and supervise students during non‑classroom times.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and adhere to treatment plans when applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field eligible for state teacher certification.
• Current teaching certification or license for the state of employment.
• One or more years of experience working with the facility’s student population preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental stages and behaviors for the relevant age group.
• CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification (training provided if needed).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility guidelines.
