Head Start Teacher (Full‑Time)

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a dedicated Head Start Teacher to lead a preschool classroom. You will develop and deliver individualized and group lesson plans that foster social‑emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for every child.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones.
• Maintain a safe, health‑compliant classroom and playground.
• Build strong partnerships with families and communicate regularly about child progress.
• Record observations, assessments, and screenings in paper and online systems.
• Supervise Teacher Assistants, Program Aides, and volunteers, supporting their professional development.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local Head Start regulations.

Required profile

• Experience working with preschool‑age children in an educational setting.
• Ability to create a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with families and staff.
