Teacher Assistant – 2026-2027 School Year

About the role

The Tucson Unified School District is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction for the 2026-2027 school year. This position works directly with teachers to ensure a productive learning environment for students in the Dietz K-8 school.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily classroom teaching responsibilities.
• Provide instructional support and help manage classroom activities.
• Support student engagement and monitor progress under teacher guidance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an Arizona Department of Education‑approved Academic Assessment Test, OR an Associate’s degree (or higher), OR two years (60 semester‑hour credits) of post‑high‑school general education.
• At least one year of experience working with youth.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Copy of diploma, transcript or test results at hire.
• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to measles and rubella or documented MMR immunization.
