Tax Preparer – Detail‑Oriented CPA Firm

About the role

We are a boutique certified public accounting firm seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. Reporting to a senior tax professional, you will work directly with sophisticated individual and commercial clients, ensuring compliance and helping to minimize tax liabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure clients meet federal and state tax obligations and comply with IRS regulations.
• Analyze financial records, income statements, and expenditures to identify tax‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare and file tax returns and supporting work papers for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
• Research tax issues, assist with audits, and stay current on tax law changes.
• Consult with clients, answer tax‑related questions, and provide guidance on benefits and compensation structures.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date client records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in taxation or accounting.
• CPA certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of tax preparation experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software and applications.
