Tax Consultant – Credits & Incentives

About the role

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Tax Consultant to join its Credits & Incentives team. You will help the company capture federal, state, and local tax savings, ensure compliance, and support the broader tax function.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate tax incentives and credits using research engines and software.
• Engage with economic development officials, consultants, and government agencies to negotiate discretionary tax savings.
• Monitor legislative changes that could impact current or future incentive projects.
• Prepare and maintain ongoing incentive compliance documentation.
• Manage the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program and perform credit calculations.
• Assist with the preparation of annual federal and state income tax workpapers, including credit and deduction calculations.
• Support quarterly income tax provision by estimating tax credits and permanent deductions.
• Ensure accuracy in cash‑management related tax functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related analytical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant business experience.
• Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, and research abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent analytical attention to detail and written/verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
