Talent Acquisition Specialist

About the role

The Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist in Springfield, IL. Working under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the role collaborates closely with hiring managers to attract and hire top talent, with a focus on recruitment strategy, candidate pipelines and initial screening and interviewing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long-term talent strategies and processes with the HR manager and hiring managers, emphasizing diverse recruitment
• Manage candidate expectations and communicate regularly with candidates throughout the hiring process
• Analyze recruitment metrics (time to fill, vacancy rate, offer acceptance rates) and advise leaders on recruitment strategy
• Source active and passive talent, build candidate pools and track sourcing metrics
• Screen resumes and conduct initial outreach and prescreening interviews
• Schedule interviews, maintain candidate databases in the ATS, and help with employer branding
• Create job requisitions, post openings on the careers page and job boards, and attend recruitment events
• Work with Communications on advertising materials and with hiring managers on consistent interview questions
• Draft templates for TA communications and support internship programs and internal career paths

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
• Five years of experience in Talent Acquisition, including recruiting and/or sourcing top talent
• Preferred: PHR, SHRM-CP or Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter certification
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
