Systems Engineer – Test Equipment Design

About the role

Moog’s Space & Defense Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to design and develop test equipment for hydraulic, electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, servo‑mechanism and electro‑pneumatic systems used on military, commercial and space vehicles. The role is based onsite in Buffalo, NY and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge testing solutions in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new test equipment, assemblies and processes to meet cost, schedule and performance targets.
• Lead the creation of system‑level requirements, decompose them to component level and verify test equipment performance.
• Develop linear and rotary test equipment systems supporting development and production hardware.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink to build and analyze system models, predict performance and manage margins.
• Perform hardware correlation, system integration and verification testing.
• Coordinate assembly of test equipment and guide the work of other engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant technical experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
