Systems Engineer – E2

About the role

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Systems Engineer – E2 to join the System Safety Engineering Team supporting the F‑22 aircraft program. In this role you will lead safety analyses and drive the System Safety Program Plan throughout the aircraft development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute the System Safety Program Plan.
• Conduct Functional Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Safety Analysis, and Software Hazard Analysis.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and trade studies to optimize design choices.
• Coordinate safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.
• Provide technical guidance on hazard mitigation and collaborate with adjacent disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Experience working on aircraft systems in a complex, interdisciplinary environment.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative mindset with a focus on mission‑critical safety.
