Systems Analyst - Pharmacy

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a Systems Analyst for its pharmacy. Working under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, the analyst supports pharmacy staff and pharmacy administration with system functionality and training.

Key responsibilities

• Maximize the functionality of pharmacy information systems and their integration with other informatics systems in the facility.
• Serve as a technical resource and facilitate training of pharmacy and other hospital personnel.
• Daily: check Omnicell system connections, review new users, cabinet malfunctions and interface issues, CSM and floor discrepancies, controlled medication overrides and ED controlled medication transactions, and Omnicell reports; email nursing as needed; check ServiceNow for access changes and problems; reconcile temporary patient billing; add medications to Cerner and Omnicell; handle access, hardware and configuration issues.
• Weekly: run usage reports, adjust cabinet stock, monitor stockout and active order reports, and update item stockout sheets against 90-day usage.
• Monthly: update the monthly reporting dashboard, complete the OR Potential Loss Report and the Diversion Report, and email nursing as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Pharmacy technician license, or ability to obtain it within 3 months.
• Knowledge of pharmacy processes and excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs and pull up to 20 lbs, and to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard, interfaces and fax.
• Software specific to the role, including Omnicell, Cerner and ServiceNow.
