Systems Administrator – Windows

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Administrator focused on Windows environments to support both on‑premises and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with senior administrators and DevOps partners to keep services reliable, automate routine tasks, and enhance monitoring and reporting for research and development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows servers in physical and virtual environments.
• Perform day‑to‑day administration, including availability, performance, and capacity monitoring.
• Partner with DevOps teams to improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement automation scripts to reduce manual effort.
• Maintain security compliance through patching, vulnerability remediation, and policy adherence.
• Provide operational reporting, metrics, and participate in governance and change‑management meetings.
• Update documentation, standards, procedures, runbooks, and operational processes.

Required profile

• 1+ years of hands‑on IT experience supporting Windows endpoints or Windows Server.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, learn quickly, and work independently with occasional after‑hours/on‑call support.

Required skills

• Windows Server administration
• Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, certificate management
• Scripting/automation with Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript
• Understanding of SAN/NAS, backup technologies, load balancing, clustering
• Basic cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of VMware or Microsoft virtualization technologies
• Experience with enterprise hardware (Dell, Cisco, NetApp)
