Application Developer – JavaScript (Geo Experience Center)

About the role

Esri is looking for an Application Developer to join the Geo Experience Center team. You will create prototype web applications that showcase advanced cartography, interactive map visualizations, and innovative GIS experiences using modern JavaScript technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept with JavaScript, TypeScript, and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Build user‑focused web interfaces and reusable UI components using frameworks such as React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue.
• Experiment with novel web‑based maps, 2D/3D visualizations, and real‑time spatial data rendering (WebGL, browser‑based techniques).
• Collaborate with core SDK and development teams during release sprints, providing feedback on APIs, beta features, and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging web visualization capabilities and continuously improve coding practices.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience developing web applications with JavaScript; TypeScript experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one modern front‑end framework (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte).
• Understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial application development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25‑50%.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
