Senior GIS Solution Engineer - Commercial

About the role

Esri is hiring a Senior GIS Solution Engineer for its commercial team in Redlands. These engineers act as highly technical, trusted advisors to customers across many commercial markets, helping them solve business challenges and gain a competitive edge through location intelligence. They work with some of the largest and most complex companies worldwide, collaborating across Esri and advising on complex business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Present, demonstrate and support the sale of Esri software and solutions as part of the account team, reaching technical enterprise decision makers and leading technical meetings that drive revenue.
• Act as a technical leader of Esri technology and a subject matter expert in commercial industries such as insurance, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, media and entertainment.
• Propose solutions that show how GIS creates business value, and define and deliver complex strategies aligned with customers' business needs.
• Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, provide configuration guidance and best practices, and present at large conferences and executive engagements.
• Coach new team members on best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with Esri technology (mapping, spatial analysis, configuring web applications).
• 3+ years in Hi-Tech, Media & Entertainment, Consumer Goods & Services or Financial Services.
• Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design.
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science or a related field; visa sponsorship not available, U.S. work authorization required.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.

Required skills

• Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing).
• Geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
• Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and integration with data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP and analytics platforms.
• Programming and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
• Understanding of sales and business development processes and troubleshooting of client issues.

• Estimated base salary of $98,592-$173,576 USD.
