Platform Engineering Manager

About the role

Comity is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead its Platform Software Engineering team within the Power Markets division. You will own the design and scaling of core data infrastructure that powers research, market‑making, and risk‑management platforms, while collaborating closely with researchers on price forecasting and grid optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team that designs, builds, and scales data‑intensive, distributed systems supporting the company’s core platforms.
• Partner with researchers and data scientists to integrate machine‑learning models and grid‑optimization technology.
• Provide hands‑on technical guidance, contribute to senior individual‑contributor work, and mentor engineers.
• Drive complex engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring reliability and performance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in an engineering‑manager role.
• Hands‑on leader who stays close to code and daily technical decisions.
• Proven experience designing and building data‑intensive applications with distributed systems.
• Track record of leading complex projects in collaboration with data scientists or technical researchers.
