Swim Aide

About the role

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Aide assists certified YMCA Swim Lesson Instructors during swim classes at the Parkway YMCA. This part‑time position supports a safe and engaging aquatic environment for members of all ages.

Key responsibilities

• Assist aquatics instructors during swim classes and be prepared with all necessary equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, including setting up and putting away equipment.
• Engage with members, listen actively, and help them achieve their swimming goals.
• Attend mandatory monthly in‑service training and twice‑yearly association trainings.
• May work one‑on‑one with individual students during group classes.

Required profile

• Age between 15 years and 15 years 11 months.
• YASA (YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant) certification.
• No prior experience required.
